The two year KS3 science curriculum. One hundred and forty-nine lessons, forty practicals, every one finished.

This is Year 7 and Year 8, the two year KS3 that most schools now run before starting GCSE in Year 9. There are no Year 9 lessons in it.

This is the department buy. Year 7 and Year 8, all ten big ideas across both years, taught in a single consistent structure so a student moving between classes or teachers meets the same lesson shape every time. That consistency is the point. It is what makes cover lessons survivable and what lets a new teacher walk into a scheme and teach it well in week one.

What it replaces

The folder of inherited PowerPoints nobody wants to own. The gap where Year 8 should be. The three hours on a Sunday spent rebuilding a lesson that someone else half finished.

A note on what fully resourced means here

Every lesson has the explanation written, the examples worked, the tasks set and the answers provided. There is nothing marked "insert activity here" and no slide that says "discuss". If a lesson asks students to produce something, the model answer is in the deck.
