Evolution and Inheritance Year 6 Booklet | KS2 Science Knowledge Book: Adaptation, Darwin, Fossils, Variation

DIGITAL DOWNLOAD: you receive a printable A4 PDF to print at home or school. No physical book is posted.

The 21 page Evolution and Inheritance booklet starts with variation between living things before asking why adaptations matter at all. A camel built for heat and a Venus flytrap built for hunger illustrate opposite kinds of adaptation, and a "What can fossils reveal?" section brings evidence from the past into the unit. The booklet closes by naming key figures in the history of evolutionary thinking. Written to Year 6 science in England, every question comes with its own Watch the video button opening a free YouTube lesson from Brenda Hayles. Diagrams of animal and plant adaptations and photographs supporting the fossil section appear throughout, with a vocabulary list at the back.
